I’m losing my entire group of formerly cool, funny friends to the woke bandwagon and they’re offended by absolutely everything under the sun now. I swear it’s because they saw how much attention SJWs got on social media and they want in on the attention, too. Now, one of my friends stopped talking to her aging mother because her mom said the word “retarded” in the middle of a story. Her mom still doesn’t know what she did wrong and wonders what happened.
Another girl is suddenly on the ACAB train, and last month had a crazy homeless person screaming that he wanted to kill her, BANGING ON HER WINDOWS, and trying to KICK DOWN HER DOOR(!!) and instead of calling the police she POSTED ON FACEBOOK asking for advice because “Cops are evil and he’s an ‘unhoused person of color’, ” and she was worried the cops would come up out of nowhere and shoot him. She was LITERALLY more concerned about the safety of this violent, screaming man breaking in, than she was of her own safety and property.
The absolute fucking idiocy and lunacy. I just can’t handle it anymore. I don’t know anyone IRL who isn’t completely ‘woke’ now and I miss my friends.

the kicker that I'm getting to here is, my brother originally wanted to go to school in my aunt's city (the mother of the same cousin) and asked to live with them because of not being able to afford the housing and they said no, so that's why he ended up by coincidence going to the school by where the politician lived.
And you can't even make the argument of "the politician is well off so they could afford another person living there" cause my aunt is rich af too and definitely wouldn't have had financial issues.

incredibly low hanging fruit since it happened in college, but here we go.

i was also part of some student newspaper club thing but it focused on publishing academic writing and not so much actual journalistic work. a person handed in two things she wrote and i guess she expressed herself clumsily so her text said that someone was "disgusting, almost transsexual" or something to that effect. that essay got rejected because we didn't like the topic, but we were discussing another essay of that person and someone actually said we shouldn't give that person a platform because muh twansphobia. the essay was shit too, but god, rejecting someone based on ONE clumsy expression? even though it was based, kek.
there were other instances of people talking about the wonders of being outside the gender binary and queer, but i deleted most of it from my memory to save my mental health from crumbling like a dry cookie.
