im moving at the end of april and will finally be owning instead of renting so i want to get really creative. theres one spot in the house where i will have 3 doors all in one area and want to do something like picrel but my nigle thinks it looks silly

i was loving this idea as well as somewhat color coordinating the room behind the door as well. like using a ton of green accents in the room behind the green door. i dont want it to look tacky tho

Recently I've been getting recommended a lot of colorful Korean rooms on Instagram, I really like the look of bright colors against a white wall (picrel is a product photo, that's why there's so many pillows)

They have that stuff too but there's a decent amount of simple, indie, or modern type furniture that's cheaper or same price as other stores. Their clearance section had a beautiful white marble table but I didn't have that much when it was there.

My best furniture has been used stuff. Recently got two $3000 armchairs from an estate sale for $150 each. My desk was a Craigslist find, made of solid wood by the seller’s dad. Fixed it up and now it’s gorgeous and will probably be around longer than me. It’s fun to hunt down the right piece, then put work into it to make it look nice. This also enables me to get much higher-quality stuff than I could afford otherwise. Seems like every piece of new furniture these days is either made of laminated MDF or costs thousands of dollars, and I don’t want to deal with either of those.

Definitely no. I don’t like the trend of painting houses black either. Energy inefficient, ugly now, will be even uglier in 15 years.

I feel like you could only pull it off if the space was white like your picrel and had a lot of natural light. You’ll also have to be really careful to pick the right shades. If you do it right I think it could look real nice, but done wrong it’d look like a preschool.

the walls are already white which is good. youre right about being very careful with tones. i also feel like i might have to balance the space with a similarly painted piece of furniture, just because i only have the 3 doors, for an effect close to >>1116480 id need more than just 3 colors.
