its not that expensive to feed them, unlike my indoor cats they eat just about anything meat based and are grateful for the dollar store band cat food and wet food I give them but fixing them so they don't create more cute kittens is the hardest. Also getting their shots is expensive.
please nonnies while reading this thread fix your cats, and encourage others to fix their cats, I live in a rural area with a shitty aspca and animal control not fixxing your cats if you have no intention of taking care of them means more unloved kittens in this world. not every cat is lucky to have a soup kitchen to come home too to eat, I hate moral fagging but it makes me feel bad.

Glad you mentioned that part. In my last apartment block a woman on the ground floor had a whole flock of half wild cats hanging around as they knew she was a source of food. They didn't really bother anyone so she did her thing with them but by the time I moved out I noticed the cat gang had exploded in size. Sometimes animal charities will do it for free.

I tried that but the problem is where I live it cost 50 per cat for the only shelter in town to take them, people have been dumping cats and dogs there all the time in the front before any one gets there. its a kill shelter too so my only option is to rehome them. I let them in the shed at night and let them out in the morning as part of my attempt at getting the older ones to be socialized when I am off my caretaking duties I'd take in their nightly food and sit with them to get them used to people.

this thread is adorable, why was she banned? it's like the gas station attendant wildlife feeding 4chan thread, a cute classic. if you e-mail certain cat food companies and let them know you have a colony or strays to feed they will often send you decent coupons. please anons with money do not abuse this system, but just letting you guys that feed strays or colony cats know.

if you can't afford to trap the cats yourself to get fixed, if you are in america there are people you who sometimes will lend you traps and will help arrange getting them fixed free or low cost. check your county for neutering and spaying programs too, but if you get hooked up with people in the cat community, they should lead you in the right direction and can help get it done for free a lot of the time. they definitely need to be fixed. most kittens do end up dying outside though so i would suggest trying to contact people who do rescue work through facebook. they may be able to foster the kittens for you if shelters are full.

Just a warning for anyone who does feed stray cats - please feed them on plates or in bowls, because one of the most common (and very painful) injuries stray cats fed by people get is fractured teeth from eating off concrete. That and cut tongues from people feeding them straight from a can of cat food.
