My body is the kitchen sink for all drinks, but in general, I tend to not buy vodka for at home mixing, and tequila only for special occasions. When I'm out at restaurants or happy hour, I go for Moscow Mules or anything with fresh herbs in the mix (not a martini fan). I do love Beer and that's what I get when I'm at a bar.
Pic Related for my style and go-to Tequila Brand.

But girly drinks are good, and usually cocktails are higher in alcohol percentage than 'manly' beer. But cider drinks are truly shit.

I enjoy vodka and gin, dark stuff is a guaranteed hangover. Also love my IPAs. Now that I'm getting older, I prefer just chilling with beer.

>>80171I don't have a problem with suggesting that women be proactive about not getting raped/assaulted (avoid getting drunk, don't go into bad neighborhoods, walk with a male friend). I also said that maybe it's not
only women that should try not to drink so much. If men are that dangerous and naturally predatory it should also be their responsibility to curb their drinking in order to minimize damage. Yes?
But you don't care, the West has overly permissive immigration policies, women shouldn't tan because pale skin is best, you have some submissive 4chan pedobait with daddy issues to go chat up.

I just think women are more amenable to the idea of "hey, maybe you shouldn't drink so much because X, Y and Z" than guys are.

>>80255You can try a sweet wine like Riesling or Moscato. There's also creme de menthe. (Sorry I don't know much about sweet drinks, but maybe another anon can pick up where I left off)
Most bars will have special house cocktails and a lot of them are sweet or sweetish. If in doubt, you can ask the bartender.

Are you in America or a someplace that has a Costco? I fucking live for their Kirkland vodka. I turned my nose up at it initially, but it's so fucking smooth and legit.

Depending on your price range, I'm sure Aberlour wouldn't be too rough of a start. I'm not an expert, so maybe wait for some other anon to pitch in with ideas.

>>107549Blended whisky (Jameson, Johnnie Walker, Chivas regal) tend to be smoother and easier to drink/sip and mixes well.
Single malts tend to be acquired tastes since the taste profile is very different depending on where it is from. I mostly drink scotch so I can only really suggest whiskies from Scotland.
A good place to start would be scotch from Speyside which is either light (like a Glenlivet) or sweet and slightly syrupy (like a Macallan).
I like strong smoky flavours so I tend to steer towards scotch from Islay like Talisker or Caol Ila (though Caol Ila isn't from Islay which makes it smoky but really really smooth and too easy to drink).
Personally, I drink it neat because I feel like i get more of the flavours that way. Adding a bit of water or adding ice changes the taste profile. I find that if I have my scotch over ice, it makes it taste a lot sharper but not in a pleasant way. But experiment with it because it's really all up to your own personal preference.
I'm not sure where you are but some places will have smaller bottles for sale as well so you can try different ones without having to break the bank and splurging on a whole bottle that you might not like.

My standards don't exist. I love tequila and any sweet girly drink that includes it. My cheap ass fave is tequila poured into an Arizona mango.
Also I love buzzed balls. If you don't give a fuck and like cute shit I recommend them.
I go for normal mixed drinks when I'm drinking socially, but when I'm drinking alone (introvert) I always make some kind of large spiked lemonade so I'm forced to drink more water in order to feel it

From Islay and should probably know a bit more about the stuff. Though Bruichladdich is pretty light. It is all definitely an acquired taste. So no point trying to force it.

It sucks that I'll never be able to enjoy it normally and have to be totally abstinent. It's been 11 months since I last had a drink, though.

>>79719Ever since I went through rehab and had the dts, I can't drink stiff drinks anymore unless it's Jäger or absinthe or with a chaser. It sucks because I used to love whiskey. I think it's all psychological for me though. It reminds me of non stop puking bile for three days.
>>80255If you're looking for skinny cockatiels try vodka cranberry, mojitos, or diet gin and tonic. I love pickle shots or a good tequila sunrise/screwdriver. I'm a big sake fan too, but bars don't usually have sake.
>>100168I drink pbr. Same shit.
>>107741I used to drink a 750 of whiskey/vodka and a six pack of 7% beer everyday at 100lbs. I even got banned from the liquor store I used to go to for always coming blacked out to get more liquor. I started drinking like a normal person again. I don't buy into the "you're an addict for life" AA bullshit. If you feel like you need to stay away from alcohol, do it. But if a few years down the line, you feel like you can handle a drink, do it. Just watch yourself and remind yourself why you had to quit drinking in the first place.
Congrats on the 11 months! It's nice when you don't look bloated and feel like shit all the time.

For beers, Belgian and brown. I can get them easily in stores where I live but aren't that common in pubs unless it's a place targeted at beer enthusiasts. I don't handle beer well, since I always go for the stronger one, chug them down fast and just make me dumb as a brick and sad half of the time. Blond beers can be ok when they have this "flower" taste but a heavy brown beer with this coffee/caramel/chocolate kind of taste is the best
For wines, red and french if possible. It's my current favorite alcohol. Make me feel drowsy and horny at the same time. Still hard for me to guess what could be a good bottle in a store, but I'm fine even with plain table wine. It's too damn good. I like the smell, the stains it lays on everything, the heavy taste…
I have very few experiences with fine/expensive liquors. Really like rhum-based cocktail when well prepared. I'm used to cheap vodka but can get smashed with pretty much anything.
My father was a drunkard, so I (kind of) watch myself but I'm prone to use alcohol as something to help me communicate, socialize and getting less anxious and self-conscious but I should be drunk most of the time to be efficient, and it's expensive and not healthy at all
Pic related is also something I like a lot
