Talk about your favourite metals and stones, the best pieces you own or would like to own.

Talk about how to accessorize outfits and looks, ask for advice.

Thought this would be nice to accompany the clothes/makeup thread.

No. 168360

(And also I have a need for advice)

My grandmother got me a £50 voucher for a jewellery store (Pia Jewellery) for my birthday and I have literally no idea what to get with it. Tempted by the 9ct gold prince of wales chain and the imaginatively titled £55 silver 'Pearl Necklace', but I am so hopeless when it comes to jewellery if it isn't cheapo high street stuff. Thought it'd be best to start simple if pricey.

I feel I should become an adult and start wearing it though, as I also received a heather necklace from the boyf, a pair of pearl earrings and a commissioned bracelet from my parents containing my caged baby teeth by a local jeweller.

Gold is my fave metal; although I like silver I feel it'd clash with the gold accents on my glasses which I wear everyday. Pearls and opal are fave stones.

Oh also talk about piercings. Currently wearing a gold and pearl septum ring because I can't let go of the edgy teen inside of me.

I thought about septum jewelry but then heard someone refer to it as a Hitler piercing, so…

Does anyone know where I can find a reasonably affordable pair of earrings that looks like the ones Pony is wearing in this video? anony.link/http://youtu.be/I4bBUb_kjBc

I've been on a real post earring kick lately and now actively dislike the look of hook earrings.

my only jewelry problem is that I'm anal about matching metals. All my ear piercings are stainless steel, so all my other jewelry has to be that kind of silver as well. but I'm getting kind of bored of that and want to branch out into golds, antique metals, etc. but I have no idea where to buy nice quality studs and barbells. actually, I don't know where to buy nice quality jewelry that won't ruin my bank account period.

so what are your favorite stores anons?

>>168362
I have this exact problem. My metals must match. Currently have stainless steel in my snug as it's been a dick healing until now and I really just want a nice, non-reactive gold-coloured ring for it to match everything else I wear.

I've found loads of shops by just googling but I have no ideas whats good.

I'd say go for the pearl necklace since you have a pair of pearl earrings. It'll be a nice set for fancy evenings/events.Though I have to admit I'm not a big fan of the 'Pearl Necklace', I prefer the 'Strand's of Pearl Necklace'.

Is it possible to take out captive bead rings myself? I have a couple I got with the piercing, adn while I like them, I'd like to switch it up sometimes, y'know?

not fully jewelry buuut I want to get a belly button piercing this spring, does anyone have advice on getting one done, wearing it and of course, picking the right jewelry for the piercing?

Small and nothing dangly while it heals, and silver. Right?

I want to get one too.. but healing is a bitch, I think you can't do work outs that target your stomach for like 3-6 months, and that's a no Bueno for me rn

No. 168368

>>168365
Of course. It's tricky and you may need to get pliers involved depending on the ball size and the size of the dimples on the ball. But once you get the hang of it, it's ace. I swap my balls out occasionally. I've tried using clickers (this is for my septum) but the hinges wear out so quickly. None of that with BCR, they're a sturdy 'keep in' kinda thing. You may want to look at other jewellery types if you're gonna be swapping it everyday.

Sterling silver, have a friend/whoever around to help put on shoes for the first few days, go to a place specialized in piercings and for the love of god don't change your jewellery before the reccomended healing time is over. Make sure to sanitize a few times a day at least and don't fiddle with it, and don't go swimming until it's healed! Be smart about what clothes you wear in the beginning of the healing process, getting caught on hems etc hurts like a bitch. The hole will be visible 5 ever, even if you decide to take it out (post healing). Good luck!

Thanks anon!

But what about pregnancy? Do you take out the ring for pregnancy and re pierce it once you're done?

No. 168371

>>168370

>recommending sterling silver

eh. could be bad if you're allergic (like many, many people are). if you want sterling silver of any kind, make sure you're not allergic first. wear a silver ring for a bit and see if it turns your finger green/black.

surgical-grade steel is the best choice, especially for a healing one.

I think pandora jewelry is some of the tackiest shit out but my inlaws buy me pandora rings, bracelets and charms for my birthday and Christmas every year. Its like, a thing for the women in the family.

Don't get me wrong I really appreciate the generosity and acceptance that comes along with treated as one of the family but oh my god its pandora ugh every basic bitch rattles with it down the street

ARE YOU ME

My inlaws buy me pandora, and it's a family 'girl' meme too. Holy shit, there must have been some marketing department genius at pandora that made this happen.

I also think it's tacky, but at least you can sort of wear it with casual stuff.

oo thats super cool anon I love that kind of stuff. I have a friend that does shit like that too. He has ones with glass eyeballs and crystals. I would get one but I would be afraid of breaking it. Would you ever sell those?

They've been super thoughtful about what they've given me, I have a silver ball clasp bangle and a leather wrap around cord.
The charms are a cake because I bake a lot and a Cinderella carriage because I love my Disney princesses.
My boyfriend got me a little pavé looking ring which I wear all the time because its the first bit of jewelry he gave me but I just can't bring myself to genuinely love any of it.

yeah, I've sold some to people in real life before, I'm planning on opening a webstore soon. I have slept in necklaces I've made (probably shouldn't, but whatevs) and it's fine, they're quite sturdy. The only way they would "break" is if you actively tried to push the ston out, but that can be said for any piece of jewelry. I have quite the collection of stones building up so I've gotta start selling some soon, haha.

I like Pandora despite its tackiness. But I did notice, I bought some of the heart studded earrings with the little diamonds around the heart and I thought it… was ALRIGHT. Walked past a jewellers the other day and saw the same earrings in rose gold and silver, much better quality. Lol I know what I'm buying on Payday ;)

Is there a specific name for the large earring on the top right? I thought it was a clip but that just brings up clip-on earrings when I search online.

I was thinking about getting another ear piercing or two but I'm not sure if it'd look weird if I had an uneven number on one side compared to the other. My earlobes have a single piercing, which I like but I think I want something else higher up or near the center part of my ears.

What piercings do you girls have?

They are called "ear cuffs". They aren't pierced they just kind of clip to your ear and you squeeze down on them if they are loose.

They are a lot snazzier now, most being cuffs that got with pierced ear loobs with a chain connecting them or being some intricate piece that goes on your entire ear. Spencers, Amazon, or eBay is probably your best bet if you want just a plain ear cuff without any designs to it.

I have 9 piercings, all on my ears.
Left ear:
>3 lobes, 2 helix (one of he helix is a failed industrial that never properly healed at the top)
Right ear:
>2 lobes, conch, helix

Dont worry about them looking weird at unequal numbers. I think it looks better that way imo, perfect symmetry on both ears if more than lobes make you look too ocd. The only thing that bothers me is the angle of the industrial-turned-helix.

If youre really worried you could get a couple of hose cheap fake earrings and see how it looks.

Youre my favorite anon
