A deaf cat won't have that many problems as long as you keep them indoors. A blind cat has a much tougher life though, since cats rely on their strong vision for a lot of things. A blind and deaf cat is basically fucked.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to get any cat from the shelter (the deaf cat's owner wants to keep it now).

I'm not sure about getting a cat though because of how nervous my bf is about it.My bf never ever had a pet, so he's a bit scared, I don't know how to assuage his fears. I tried showing him videos, articles, even showed him my friend's cats, but he's still quite nervous about getting a cat and I don't want to force him into it, I want him to choose the cat, be excited about it etc.

Any advice?

I never grew up with cats but I found a ragdoll at the humane society and she's perfect for me because she's dog-like but also a cat ie follows me around, listens to my commands, floppy, etc.

It depends on what kind of cat you want. I enjoy her because she's litterbox trained so I don't have to take her out all the time like with a dog, also she gets along with other. Small dogs.

So maybe have him list what he's wanting in a cat and see if anyone has a cat like that, not all are slinky and aloof. :)
