Not really. I don't like the excessive nitpicking either but lolcow is the only imageboard that's similar to the other gossip websites I used to browse.

I don't think it's mental illness, but I think that the average age of posting is pretty low in certain threads, because a lot of the MPA sorts just never left.

The gossipy nature of talking gets a bit frustrating when it's just bitching about peoples looks though I think. Like, it's just depressing watching a thread of people complain about every small flaw with someones face.

If it's something or talking about someone who actually did something entertaining and worth gossiping about I could spend a long time browsing here consecutively, but otherwise I don't spend more than a couple minutes in a thread. If I wanted to whine about how someone was a bit too fat, or a bit round faced, or their nose was a bit too pointy, there's thousands of forums filled with insecure teenagers I could go to.

And I'll never understand the threads full of people just functioning as a diary for someone who might not be super likable, but isn't really interesting in anyway, it's just people tracking their every movement and complaining about it. That's bizarre to me.

Bruhhh I go here when I take a shit. But it's funny how people lose their shit, and it's usually the cows whos being gossiped about. It feels like youre the same white knight who came out of Sheena's thread. Either way I'm just an anon speculating in the sidelines and I'm not personally involved with the cows and their stupid drama while they go crazy about it. Can't sleep at night when you think about what anons talk about you huh?

I don't find the gossip draining. I think that a lot of times people here come up with stupid things to gossip about though. I've never been one to gossip, and I really don't enjoy talking about other people and their drama. But the threads here I find really interesting. For example, I had a vague idea that onision was a child marrying argumentative scumbag before finding Lolcow, but now I realize he's even worse than that. I also think it's funny that people here will gossip and nitpick about the Internet nobodies that I though no one really even knew about, like jvloggers.

I like it because the cows are so morbidly fascinating, they're like car wrecks you can't look away from. You also find out interesting skeletons in closets that you wouldn't have on other sites because of fans, like >>112581 said, I had no clue how disgusting Onision was until here, I thought he was just a douchebag YouTube ranter. I also spend no time on social media so there are fascinating people I never knew about until a thread was made.

However, if I'm on too long I do get down because it can just be depressing. Cows that are in a constant downward spiral and will probably never get out, and it only gets worse, people that could have had nice and/or normal lives but just can't get away from the Internet. And then there are ones that are just so reprehensible a part of me wishes I never knew they existed.

Not really, seeing other people with messy lives makes it easy to feel good about my own.

I don't join in the real bitchy stuff though, some people nitpick and shit on pretty girls for the smallest things and it's clear those anons aren't happy with themselves or their lives. They do come off as sad and jealous to me.
