Anyone shop here when they were little? I was poor so I got everything on clearance or for special occasions only. The quality was so much better than its replacement Justice and the designs were cuter and overall less cheap looking.

Yes, I always loved building/construction/assembling toys. And I loved the design of this! I tried to make every possible form but I always loved to make animals.

Literally today I had a nostalgia stroke for this handheld console games that Mc Donals sold. Spyro, Crash and Sonic (apparently more but I got to see/remember these ones the most).
If I ever manage to get a job I'll definetly collect them!

Oh shit I had one of these! The sonic one where you jumped through the rings. Crazy that played with this for hours on roadtrips compared to what kids have now lol.

Another blast from the past McDonald's toys- Anyone had these? They were around 2004/2005 when Neopets were a big thing. I specifically remember asking my mom for McDonald's so I could collect them. This was before there was a lot of Neopets merch (a least around me) so I gravitated to as many as I could find

Half of my early childhood is filled with videogames, TV series and collectable shit I would hoard like mad because I wanted to be the one with the most cards (it hurt like hell to trade cards).

The only culture I remember from that time are things like Pokémon and the Nintendo DS. Pokémon was my life even though I had never played a game before. Not until Pokémon Ranger and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon came around. I would watch the TV series religiously (Advanced Battle!).

Animal Crossing, and those two Pokémon games were the ones I played the most. I remember feeling scammed because no one would come to my town to play with me or would rescue me when I requested it (lol). It was hilarious, I would try all the multiplayer options in hopes one worked. Naturally, no one came, haha. I would spend hours looking at the Wild World game cover, wondering how cool would it be to play with friends.

Also, Animal Crossing pic is me planting all the trees and flowers Nook gave you at the beggining right outside the shop lol. Classic.

These are the things that kids used to collect in my hometown: Pokémon cards (the transparent/plastic ones oh god), Pokémon pogs (the legendary ones were shiny and so beautiful omg I remember finding a Groudon on the floor, someone had lost it and I brought it home with me, I felt bad afterwards).
Also WWE was a huge thing, all the boys would wrestle for fun during recess, they collected transparent cards too.

I used to read a lot of books too. Ulysses Moore was my Harry Potter, I loved this saga when I was kid. I had a crush on Nick, one of the protagonists.

I remember there was other kid in town who would borrow the books from the local library and I would have to wait until he had read them. I wanted to talk to him about the story, but he was one year younger and I was extremely shy.

Molly Moon and C.H.E.R.U.B. sagas are also part of my childhood. I want to reread the C.H.E.R.U.B. one, but it's almost impossible to find the books in my language so I will have to read them in English lol.

These were my favorite books growing up- The Tales of Dimwood Forest series. I don't know why, but stories of mice going on adventures were always the kind of books I searched for.

did you ever read redwall series? i only read the 1st 3 because they didn't translate any further in my language, i loved them so much, the whole little woodland creatures having a cute miniature world ala beatrix potter but doing srs/dangerous shit was the sweet spot for 10 year old me kek.

>>70574
pokemon card games never took off in my country but man, the pogs! we got them in crip packets and near every kid in kindergarten/elementary school would have a collection and battle with them kek. i even had some from that weird zigzag plastic that would look like 2 diff things from diff angles! plain cardboard rattata was my all time fav tho. i was too shy to approach other kids so i just battled with my mom lol. later on they introduced pogs of yugioh too and they were METAL which really blew my mind lol but i only ever got like 3 of them.

also my mom never got me yugioh cards despite me asking for them for like good 3 years straight smh. probably wanted to avoid her pog destiny as only boys payed yugioh cards and obvi death before speaking to boys kek.

I remember me and my sister got Shirley Barber books with audio CDs from a supermarket on a whim when I was young and I loved the shit out of them. The illustrations are beautiful and I can still remember the Australian(?) accent narrating all the stories
