Post all things birds here. Cute birds, weird birds, scary birds, small birds, big birds, bird memes post them all.

OP pic is a Hoatzin. They look incredibly dinosaur like to me. They are herbivores and ferment the leaves they eat in their crop similar to how cows ferment food in their stomachs. All the fermentation from their diet makes them emit a maniure like smell. And why they are sometimes called the stinkbird. The babies have claws on the end of their wings resembling that of many microraptors.

Whoever set it up used the name field instead of the subject so the title doesn't show up in catalog. That's probably why you missed it.

If you like birbs and owls I can't recommend this wholesome channel enough. This man makes nests for birds and put cameras inside, so you can follow their parenthood journeys. In this film, one tawny owl mum happily adopts orphan chics that he placed with her after her eggs failed.

These fellas are naturally white but stain themselves red using rock dust to look fashionable. They also clean up all the nasty carrion lying around. A true gentlebird

A thread about birds and no one is talking about seagulls? I'm literally cawing and shaking that no one is talking about the best bird. I'm so sad I'm going to squak outside some nonna's window at 5am.

I never thought they were annoying but hearing them always brings me back to another time. I get why they call them mourning doves. They sound melancholy and nostalgic.
