Touken Ranbu (刀剣乱舞) is a franchise based on a free online web browser game by DMM. It's a bishie collector game where players assume the role of a Saniwa sage (審神者) who travels into the past to defeat evil forces that are trying to change the course of history. As a sage, you have the ability to bring famous historical swords to life as touken danshi, aka hot sword guys.
Your duty is to bring these blades to life, create an army, and defeat the enemies!

Sorry for the stupid question but I have not played the game since release, does the cookies trick on browser still work? I don't want to start over with an eng account a loose my progress. Or did they fix the mobile app where you don't have to log into PC first then to connect your account to mobile?

How was the switch game? Was there DLC? Is there planned DLC? none of the swords I really cared for were in but I would consider getting it if they were DLC or maybe if they make another down the line, are the fighting styles different or are there (expected of a musou game) a good number of clones?

I enjoyed Warriors!
They all have different fighting styles - aside from the two Yamanbagaris. I had a lot of fun playing as all the different characters, even the swords I don't care for grew on me while playing the game. I do hope they make a sequel with even more of the boys. No character DLC so far, just backgrounds and casual outfits.

The cookie trick no longer works since they changed the game's url a few years back during a site-wide revamping. The only way to play thr JP version on browser now is through VPN. I'm not sure about needing to be logged in to the browser to connect mobile but afaik it hasn't changed.

I like the sleek design of the UI but the amount of buttons there are on the menu screen is ridiculous along with the new fatigue system too. I think they should have gone for a mix between the homey and traditional look of the old UI and the sleek and modern UI.

No. I just can’t believe it will get removed just like that. I know it only came out worldwide in 2021 which is when I started playing the game. And I know I should’ve known better because yeah, the game is ridiculously simple and you’re basically just staring at cute static pictures of pretty boys and listening to their smooth voices.

This is what I wonder too. They know en audience doesn't want to spend their whole paycheck on games with no effort put into them, only the games with good gameplay or really good story ever really stick around in the English speaking side of gaming community. So why open a server you know you won't make money from? Do they hope to be the one exception that everyone magically likes despite not getting enough content from the game?

I dropped the game as well, I haven’t seen the stage play the new anime’s based on but I’d say it’s decent enough, I like the mix of drama and comedy thrown in there.

Honestly all the swords released after the osafune ones are either ugly or straight up bland, hate the tracksuit outfits and the tacky hairstyles.
