I actually agree I like Penders more than Ian Flynn. At least when Penders did something retarded it was kind of funny, like when he had the Echidnas be nazis right down to the death camps.

I really dislike Jim Carrey as a person, and while I thought his portrayal of Robitnik in the 1st and 2nd movies were OK, I think he's just far far far too silly. The hogs make a joke of Eggman but he's pretty serious about himself, and he, even at his silliest, is an intensely intelligent character. It's Ok if they went a humorous route or so grandiose and robust it's funny (which I think would suit Robotnik a lot) but I just hate that it's the Jim Carrey as The Mask as Dr. Robotnik.
I'm waiting to see how this whole thing with Gerald Robotnik is handled but I really don't like the look of how silly it is. Maybe it's better in context. I want to see Shadow and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, I just wish they'd stuck closer to the material, especially this movie being based on SA2 since that game was so story heavy.

Sonic is supposed to be cool, stoic, confident to the point of arrogance and absurdly competent, while also being genuinely kindhearted and have a gentlemanly air to him. The movies completely fumble his characterization and they have easily the worst Sonic portrayal to date.

People keep claiming 3D is cheaper, which might be true but idk, I think when you cheap out you take less risks since you realize the movie can make or break. Old 3D was riskier which is why the franchises from 30 years ago are still going strong but new 3D movies that aren't based on an existing nostalgia franchise are dead on arrival.

Believe me, at first, I wasn't receptive to the ship. But over time as I got deeper into Sonic, I realized it actually works quite well. Sonamy isn't even my favorite Sonic ship. I can give you a hint though that Sonic has feelings for Amy: The fact that Sonic gets nervous around Amy more than anyone else shows he has feelings. Sonic is incredibly straight laced even if he acts cool and laid back. You can see Sonic gets a tiny bit flustered around princess Elise, but he's consistently flustered around Amy. When Amy doesn't recognize Sonic as the werehog in Sonic unleashed, Sonic is visibly upset. He likes when Amy dotes on him, even if it makes him anxious.
Again, Sonamy is NOT my favorite Sonic ship. But I like the dynamic. It's cute and taking it away does a great disservice to Amy. It's not a will they wont they kind of thing like westerners like to think, it's an ongoing advanture.
