There isn't a j-fashion thread anymore so here's one. Talk about tips, makeup, hair tutorials, coords, jfash in general etc.

Pic related has cute makeup (though it's personally too much for me, I don't wear lenses). I usually prefer the very girly look for clothes (ruffly skirts, blouses, long socks, "kawaii" high heels, blouses, cardigans, lots of pink and white, etc) but it's almost always too over the top for me to wear in real life :(

I'm super self-conscious of what I wear too, anon. I'm working on not caring what other people think, but in the meantime I don't really feel comfortable wearing j-fashion outside.

Which is why I've found a good friend in larme kei! It's kind of "normie" j-fashion, but still cute and memorable. You can kinda make it as OTT or casual as you like. Most of the staple pieces are quite pricey, but I've been having a blast scouring eBay auctions for cute, cheap pieces and then adding ruffles or lace to make them a little more larme.

I want to wear some cute casual J fashion. Nothing like heavy makeup or OTT but like a casual but slightly cute look. I have a few skirts like this picture.

I'd like to get some circle lenses but in 14 mm size, my eyes are mega tiny and small lenses/natural really make me look better. Back when I was younger I'd wear the huge lenses like OP Pic with crazy makeup, now I'm pretty "natural" overall.

I think so, like you said it's easily found in the west but I meant like the overall vibe of this is simple but more "cute" than regular "super mature" style of clothes. I'd add some accessories to this outfit though IMO, maybe a beret.

I was into the more intense looking J fashions when I was younger, like gyaru and then lolita but now I'm pretty toned down but I like a cute element to my outfits.

As for j-fashion i try to stick to casual outfits but even the few things i do own kinda stick out a little. There's a few items on amazon, really giant t-shirts with cute cat faces on them that i have. my husband says i look cute but sometimes i feel silly wearing them out. Lately i've been wearing one of them as a nightgown because somehow it has a weird red stain on it :( it looks like blood but i think it was because we had a mold problem in our last apartment's laundry room.

I really love LizLisa stuff. A lot of it's easy to wear out without looking too odd, and you can get some stuff for really cheap prices secondhand on Ebay. I recently got this dress. It's a bit short though so I might cave and get bloomers for decency.

Lately I've considered switching up my style pretty drastically. I've become very self conscious about my age and my height with himekaji style. I'm also kind of tall (5'9) and a lot of pieces are one size one pieces. Ordering online is always a gamble.

Though I've always been drawn to most gyaru styles, and I want to try rokku but am kind of scared I'll be mistaken for emo/scene. I'm currently dieting which I think will help. It's also more forgiving with height since its tops and bottoms mostly instead of dresses.

Does anyone have any tips for starting this out? Like where I can maybe buy some brand piece. Or even a guide would be helpful if it exists. I always liked Onee gyaru. I'm complete shit at hair/makeup so I couldn't ever get that part, but the fashion gave me great ideas and inspiration for silhouettes that I can translate into the workplace.

Larme is starting to grown on me… I just have a hard time with pastels because they wash me out a lot. I can do the light blues and greys, but the pinks and yellows are absolute no's.

what style himegyaru the la pafait cutesy style or the more fancy jesus diamante style? i've been buying a lot 2nd hand from fril.jp with fromjapan shopping service. i wear both styles anything pink and fluffy and super bouffant wigs. i used to buy from la pafait via ss but the last time i tried my ss said they couldn't buy it.

stuff on fril is fairly cheap, especially for jd stuff. i buy some other stuff from dreamv and other brands like secret honey. using the tag 姫系(hime-kei) to shop helps a lot. lemme know if you want more info, and if you want i want more hime friends so we can share discord or something?

jd still has their online shop up, but you have to use a ss. fril and other 2nd hand sites sell it as well. i used to use western sales comms, but they tend to be over priced since people always account for their customs fees they initially paid.

i think emiria wiz and datura are more agejo, (which has toned down over the years) or oneegyaru but i am sure a lot of it can be worn in a hime-way, thoug it may look more hostessy. i found while getting into gyaru, i just bought what i wanted, styled my makeup and hair like i liked and it sort of worked.
