Hey all, I recently came across this dating app called Duolicious, and I'm not entirely sure what to make of it. It's trying to stand out by focusing on food preferences as the basis for matching, which is an interesting concept, but it also feels a bit gimmicky to me.

The idea is that you build your profile around your favorite foods and culinary experiences, and then you get matched with others based on what you both like to eat. It's supposed to be a fun way to connect with potential dates who share your love for certain cuisines or dishes.

However, I can't help but wonder if this is just another way to make dating even more superficial. Are we now going to judge potential partners on whether they prefer sushi over burgers? And let's be real, how many of us are actually going to be honest about our food preferences? I can already imagine people pretending to love kale salads just to seem more health-conscious.

Plus, the whole concept of planning dates around food themes sounds cute in theory, but it could get old quickly. Not every date needs to be a culinary adventure, and sometimes it's nice to focus on the person rather than what's on your plate.

I'm curious to hear if anyone else has tried Duolicious or if you share my skepticism. Do you think this could be a fun new way to meet people, or is it just another gimmick in the overcrowded world of dating apps?(shit thread)

I feel like it would be a better app if it focused on not being a dating app and more of a friendship finder app.

It might save some hassle but relationships are more than just your food preferences. I guess it's a starting point to find something in common but again it feels like it feels like it would be more successful for meeting new people/friends.
