There’s a tiny island on the north end of Scotland called North Ronaldsay. Back in the 1800s they had some economic hardships and had to build a stone wall around the entire island to keep sheep from eating the crops. The sheep, trapped between the wall and the sea, adapted to a diet of nothing but seaweed. The breed has become famous for its unusual wool and meat, but because the island’s population (only like 60 people) is declining they were having a hard time maintaining the stone wall. Anyway, they recently this girl in her late 20’s to move to the island and take care of the wall and keep the sheep on the right side.

I think about that life sometimes.

One time I got bored and scrolled through some french chateau real estate sites (while wondering what IF I could buy one of those houses lol) and came across this one. For some reason it stuck with me. It clearly needs some work done but compared to the other "pretty" ones, I thought that this has a character. 10/10 would buy and renovate the hell out of it.

not sure if this is cheating since i made this myself in the sims… but i LOVE "modern"/minimalistic design. it's definitely not everyone's thing, but there's something about the way things are broken down into their most basic forms that i find really elegant. unfortunately, most of the houses in this category are extremely expensive… maybe if there was more practicality in the materials and the interior was less luxurious they'd be more affordable. if you couldn't tell i'm very inspired by bauhaus ideology (form=function) lol
